Our Commitment
JumpClub BMX is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all members, particularly children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We believe that everyone has the right to participate in BMX in a safe and enjoyable environment, free from all forms of abuse or harm.
Key Principles
- The welfare of children and vulnerable adults is paramount
- All participants have the right to protection from abuse
- All suspicions and allegations of abuse will be taken seriously
- All staff and volunteers have a responsibility to report concerns
- We work in partnership with parents/carers and relevant agencies

Safe Recruitment
We ensure all staff and volunteers are safely recruited by:
- Requiring enhanced DBS checks for relevant roles
- Checking qualifications and references
- Providing safeguarding training
- Ensuring appropriate supervision ratios
- Regular review of safeguarding practices
Code of Conduct
All staff, volunteers, and members must:
- Treat all participants with respect and dignity
- Put the welfare of young people first
- Maintain appropriate boundaries
- Challenge and report inappropriate behavior
- Follow safety guidelines and risk assessments
- Never engage in inappropriate online communication
Photography and Social Media
To protect our members:
- Photography/filming requires parental consent
- Official photographers must be registered
- No personal information will be shared with photos
- Members can opt-out of photography
- Social media guidelines must be followed
Reporting Concerns
If you have concerns about someone's safety or welfare:
- Immediately inform the Club Welfare Officer
- Record the facts and observations
- Don't investigate yourself
- Maintain confidentiality
- In emergencies, contact police or social services
Training and Events
During training sessions and events:
- Appropriate supervision ratios will be maintained
- Risk assessments will be conducted
- Emergency procedures will be in place
- First aid provision will be available
- Parent/guardian contact details will be accessible
Anti-Bullying
We have a zero-tolerance approach to bullying. All incidents will be taken seriously and addressed promptly. We encourage anyone experiencing or witnessing bullying to report it to the Club Welfare Officer.
